yes, to some it might be a man-made holiday only to make guys stress themselves out just so their girls won’t pick a fight.

HOWEVER,

It’s not about the hallmark cards and the packaged candy and chocolate. It’s not about dressing up to go to dinner with a special someone. It’s not about the aisles full of seasonal decorations and cards. It’s not about how much money a guy spends on his girlfriend. It’s not about all that material stuff at all. It’s about celebrating love, getting love, and giving love.. not only to a significant other but to everyone that you love. Everyone deserves love and yeah valentine’s day might be a lame excuse to do so but sometimes people need a reminder what love is.

People in today’s society are too wrapped up with the commericialism of what Valentine’s Day brings and they forget that it’s the thought that counts. People are also too concerned and worried about the idea that Valentine’s Day has to be spent with a date. You don’t need anyone in your life on Valentine’s Day.. so for all you single people out there don’t think of it as SAD (Single Awareness Day) but go out and give valentines to your friends, your family, and anyone who actually means anything to you. So what if you don’t get anything back? Valentine’s day is about celebrating love and if you don’t have someone to share it with give your love to everyone else. Giving is so much better than receiving anyway because you never know you might put a smile on someone’s face which is definitely more meaningful than getting a goodnight kiss or lay. And if you do have someone special in your life, you are lucky because you have the opportunity to show that person how much you do love and care about them.. Now don’t go out and buy the entire stock of wal-mart’s seasonal section but at least put some effort into celebrating some romance.

Love should be celebrated everyday but hey people are too busy to even remember to say I love you so why not dedicate a day to it.. It’s just like how Christ should be celebrated everyday but people don’t and they need a date just to go to Church. It’s the same idea. So don’t brush Valentine’s Day off just because you think it’s stupid for whatever reasons you may have. Celebrate it and bask in the love that’s in the air.
