Father’s day has always been a rough time for me. I barely have relationship with my own father and there aren’t many male figures strong enough in my life to actually celebrate it. I promised myself if and when I have a child he’ll always have the father I never had. I want him/her to have that special relationship with their father. I want my son to be able to look up to his dad as his hero and I want my daughter to be daddy’s little girl. Every time I think about anything to do with fathers it hits a sore spot. I hate watching father-daughter dances at weddings or debuts because I know I’ll never be able to have that. But to all you lovely fathers out there I am truly wishing you a happy father’s day. You deserve it!

I’m hoping my son will be able to have that relationship with you. I know you’ll be a great father. I know you will always be there for him and I’m just thanking you in advance for that. Even if our relationship might not turn out the way we would like it to I still know that my son will never doubt how much his dad loves him as I did growing up. But thank you again for doing all that you do. I know you would do anything and everything for your son. And even though you might not technically be a father yet, you’re already acting like one of the best. Happy Father’s Day.. can’t wait until next year.
